The leading manufacturers of water ionizers created seven plate machines in 2008 as a competitive response to the claims being made by Enagic, the Multi-Level Marketing company. Enagic rightly claimed that their seven plate water ionizer produced superior results to the five plate ionizers under certain conditions. The competitors quickly responded by producing their own 7 plate water ionizers that offered the same level of performance, but at no extra cost. In fact, the new seven plate units are selling at half the cost of the seven plate Enagic unit.
